Low Conflict, Low Cost Mediation Services
If assets are moderate, custody is workable, and your spouse is agreeable to a fair settlement, mediation will save thousands of dollars in legal fees, emotional aggravation, and provide more flexibility then the adversarial legal process.
Mediation can often be a simple, effective, and affordable method for reaching a mutually agreeable solution to family disputes. Mediation of divorces, legal separations, custody disputes, child support issues, etc. are often a great way to resolve your differences without having to incur significant legal costs. Further, mediation is done by agreement, so no one is imposing his or her will on the final resolution. Finally, mediation can really help preserve a co-parenting relationship when the dispute is concluded.
Mediators do not issue orders, find fault, or make legal determinations. Instead, mediators help parties reach a settlement by assisting with communications, obtaining relevant information, and developing creative options. Mediation is less expensive and less combative. Most people report a higher degree of satisfaction by working toward resolution through mediation than through the court system.
I have been practicing family law in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties for over 15 years. For the past 10 years, I have conducted mediations through the Pierce County Center for Dispute Resolution. I firmly believe that mediation is the best way to resolve family law conflicts, and I would be willing to attempt to help you with your family law dispute.
It is important to note that I would not represent either party to the dispute. My roll is to act as a neutral party who is charged with helping both parties reach a mutually agreeable conclusion to their conflict.
My rate for a mediation is $600 for one-half day and $1,200 for a full day. This includes any advance preparation for the mediation. Once an agreement is reached, our office is available to draw up all final paperwork for entry with the Court, assist the parties in the transfer of assets, and resolve disputes related to compliance with the court orders. In those instances where the parties are represented by counsel, we can transmit the terms of agreement to their attorney for preparation of the final documents.
